DoubleWood 12 於 1993 年推出，採用David Stewart於1982年設計的工藝，現在通常被稱為“木材精加工”。
為了釀造百富雙木桶，David Stewart MBE 將在傳統威士忌酒桶、美國橡木前波旁酒桶和大桶中存放至少 12 年的威士忌移至西班牙橡木桶前 Oloroso 雪利酒桶中再存放九個月。
然後將威士忌轉移到稱為“tuns”的大型橡木容器中 3-4 個月，讓來自各個酒桶的威士忌“結合”。
Balvenie DoubleWood 單一麥芽威士忌在兩種不同的木材類型中熟成，從而獲得其獨特的特性。 每個階段都賦予最終的單一麥芽威士忌不同的品質。
傳統的橡木桶軟化並增添細膩的特性，雪莉木帶來深度和豐滿的風味，最後幾個月在我們的酒桶中讓威士忌和諧地結合在一起。
